Blade Runner Live

With "Blade Runner Live", the LAC offers a new film screening experience accompanied by live music. Ridley Scott's famous film, which earned two Academy Award nominations, is presented in its "Final Cut" version on the big screen in high definition. Vangelis's soundtrack, a fundamental element of the work's identity, blends electronic music, ambient and orchestral passages, helping to define one of the most recognisable soundscapes in contemporary cinema. For the first time, the score is performed in its entirety live and in sync with the images. The Avex Ensemble brings to life the full timbral complexity and atmospheric impact of the soundtrack. Set in a dystopian Los Angeles, the film follows detective Rick Deckard, tasked with hunting down a group of replicants who escaped to Earth. The mission grows complicated when he meets Rachel, an enigmatic figure who calls into question the boundaries between human and artificial. Described by *Time Out* magazine as "the most immersive and tangible universe ever created for cinema", *Blade Runner* remains a reference point for the science-fiction imagination and for reflection on the relationship between technology, identity and memory.
