The Sisters of Mercy

The Sisters of Mercy are a gothic rock and post-punk band from Leeds, England, formed around Andrew Eldritch and Gary Marx. Their album Floodland brought songs such as Lucretia My Reflection and This Corrosion to a wider audience. The sound is built on a drum machine named Doktor Avalanche, alongside which Eldritch, the only remaining original member, has focused on the stage rather than the studio. The band is cited as an influence by several metal and alternative rock artists.
