Dismantled announces Endless, its first album since 2011, on Metropolis

Dismantled will release its sixth album, Endless, on November 20, 2026 on Metropolis Records. It is the electro-industrial project’s first record since The War Inside Me, released in 2011.

Gary Zon, who founded Dismantled in 2000, announced the album in May 2020, saying he was in no hurry to finish it. Three excerpts were put online on Bandcamp in November 2021, and a release was then expected in 2022. He describes the record as his most cohesive work, recorded mostly in Oregon and finished in southern California.

The first single, Zero, came out in September 2026. Synthpop Fanatic named it the best track of its September ranking, noting that it keeps evolving with new sounds, samples and vocal manipulations. A second single, Wired For War, was released digitally on October 9, 2026.

The album has twelve tracks, including IO, Oblivion, Cloned, Poison, Nano Cloud Warning, Mirror’s Edge, Frozen, The Fires Out West and Shelter.

ICON has 15 tracks and is available digitally, on CD and on vinyl, with collaborations from Majestoluxe and Jukka Rintamäki (Silverbullit, The Northern East). In May, EMMON also reworked the single Salz by Zweite Jugend, a German electro-industrial duo.

Andert Tysma explores his memories on the album Parallels, on Apollo Records

Dutch composer and producer Andert Tysma releases Parallels on Apollo Records. His work blends post-classical, electro-acoustic and electronic music. In 2022 he released Children Of Trinoom, his first record for the label, inspired by the journey of the musician, doctor and resistance fighter Boy Edgar, followed by the more folk-leaning Hana.

Parallels turns the focus on himself. Tysma presents it as a “personal snapshot of where I am now, shaped by everything that came before”. The pieces answer one another through motifs that return from one piece to the next. Maarten Hogenhuis’s saxophone opens the record, the piano, clarinets and strings of the title track blend with a synthesizer loop, and Costa, Costa lets a techno motif in.

The album ends with Simeon 3 and Simeon 5, composed during a residency in the house of minimalist composer Simeon ten Holt, with Nicky Hustinx on drums. Backseat Mafia gives it 90/100.

Dual Analog unveils Walk On Water, first single from the album Primal Grill

Seattle band Dual Analog released Walk On Water on October 23, 2026, the first single from its upcoming album, Primal Grill. The band calls its music “turbowave”, a term it coined for its mix of darkwave, electropop, alternative and industrial.

The track rests on world-inspired percussion, machines, clean guitars and seven-string guitar riffs, between groove and weight. The lyrics state desire and ambition plainly: “If I need to become a God, then I’ll walk on water”.

Dual Analog presents the song as a return to the sensuality and groove of its first album, Lust, Worship, and Desire (2022), combined with the identity developed since the second, The Wheel, released in October 2024.

Misery Mile has released the official video for Pierce My Skin, directed by Joshua Carrasco. The band belongs to coldwave.

The chorus, “I love the way you pierce my skin”, returns throughout the song, which is about desire and the fear of being left marked if the other person pulls away.

Collin Clowes unveils Go, a single-take video ahead of the album Daydreams

Independent singer and producer Collin Clowes, originally from Gorham near Thunder Bay, has released Go, the second single from his debut album Daydreams, due on 23 October 2026. The video is a single take: Clowes plays acoustic guitar seated, then stands up and slowly walks forward.

He wrote Go around the age of twenty in a basement in Toronto, after studying at Seneca College and undergoing a liver transplant. The song starts from the idea that leaving may have been a mistake. He recorded it alone in his bedroom studio in Lappe, at night, from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. Melanie Gail St. Pierre of Casper Skulls got in touch because of this track, at a time when he was thinking of giving up releasing music.

Daydreams gathers ten songs written over about ten years. A second album, Sweet Dreams, is recorded and expected in 2027.

Echoes of the pioneers

Massiv in Mensch celebrates 30 years with Hands on Massiv Vol. IV

Massiv in Mensch, an EBM and industrial band, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. For the occasion, it looks back on its career with “Reminiszenzen und Sequenzen” and opens a new chapter of remixes with Hands on Massiv Vol. IV. Daniel Logemann discusses it in a two-part interview published by Orkus.

He recalls that the first tracks were built with the software Fasttracker II. He founded the project with Mirco Osterthun, who has since left the band and is linked to him in a side project, Altlast. Logemann says the approach to the songs remains the same: loud, unconventional, with a sense of humor kept intact.

Procrastination grew out of a 2023 demo found on a hard drive. The lyrics describe procrastination as an emotional block tied to the fear of not measuring up, not as laziness.

A Night in Freezing Rain is inspired by a disappearance in 2001: a young girl from Bergen an der Dumme was last seen in freezing rain at a bus stop. Logemann says he is interested in true crime podcasts.

Frontmaschine, family EBM duo from Tulle, releases Rühren on Oraculo Records

Frontmaschine is a family affair: a father and son from Tulle, France, united by a love of EBM. Rühren, self-released through Anormal Touch, has thirteen tracks. Oraculo Records, a Spanish label that had already put out the debut album Wrong Fate, took seven of them for a white vinyl edition, now available after the digital release.

Dark Entries finds this record slightly less raw and rudimentary than the first, with DAF and Front 242 as reference points. The opener Beast Against Beast is the most atmospheric, then the rhythm tightens with Electric Machine and Uncontrolled, which has a video. Several tracks are in German, including Ich Will Spielen, Schwere Fälle and Vorwärts. The magazine finds no weak track.

Ugly releases The South Facade, an album leaning toward progressive rock

The band Ugly has released The South Facade. Formed in its early days by teenagers inspired by King Krule, with a sound close to Bloc Party, it moves here toward jazz fusion and progressive rock, already hinted at on its 2024 EP, Twice Around The Sun.

The Line of Best Fit, which rejects the post-punk label, says the tracks stay at a reasonable length and are full of melody. Die Another Day pairs guitar and piano with a sharp bassline, while Wasteland leans on the vocal harmonies of Samuel Goater and Jasmine Miller-Sauchella. The outlet ranks the album among the most creative debuts of 2026.

Dani Soncasie, author of Blood of the Forsaken, imagines herself in a horror saga

Dani Soncasie, creator of the vampire comic Blood of the Forsaken, answers a questionnaire from Ginger Nuts of Horror: she has to imagine waking up in a horror saga and explain how she would survive.

She picks Ready or Not. She says she can't run, but knows how to hide, has done boxing and trusts no one. Her plan: stay hidden, fight only when necessary and hold out until sunrise. Facing Ghostface, she intends to wait for him to find her and use any object as a weapon. She rules out any supernatural opponent and refuses to take on a xenomorph, whose blood is acid. In the Scooby-Doo gang, she would be Velma, with Sidney Prescott from Scream among her teammates.

Blood of the Forsaken is drawn by Evan Scale and published by Carrow Brown. The story is set in a small Midwestern town: vampires invade the Hogan family home, where Emma ends up trapped, while her twin brother Jimmy, far away, rushes to reach her.

Carrie: Amazon Prime Video orders a season 2 of Mike Flanagan’s series

Amazon Prime Video has greenlit a season 2 of Carrie, the adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, announced on October 23, 2026. The series apparently remains overseen by Mike Flanagan, who has already made Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club and The Fall of the House of Usher, as well as The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor for Netflix.

The series departs from the novel, which opens the door to a sequel. Flanagan has already mentioned possible links between Carrie and The Dark Tower, a saga he has always wanted to adapt. At TIFF, he told Collider that in his ideal scenario, Carrie’s story runs across three seasons, like a trilogy.

Flanagan is also preparing The Exorcist: Martyrs for Blumhouse, due in theaters on March 10, 2027.

Jordan Downey releases The Cycle on Shudder, a horror film born from a series project

Jordan Downey, director of Thankskilling, presents The Cycle, a horror film premiering on Shudder this weekend. Downey wrote it with Kevin Stewart, who also handled the cinematography. The site PopHorror ranks it among its favorite films of 2026.

The idea came about by accident, while Downey and Stewart were working on a pitch for a television series based on The Head Hunter, their previous film. Finding nothing comparable, they decided to devote themselves to it: the project took six years. Their starting point is a police investigation that shifts toward folklore, with The Outsider, True Detective, The X-Files and the films of David Fincher as references.

Downey champions practical effects, in the spirit of the 1980s horror films that shaped the taste for the genre. The film's creatures and effects are the work of Patrick Magee and the effects team. In an early version of the script, the character Meg, played by Deborah, was not the daughter of the man whose death she was examining: the writers tied her to him to give her investigation more weight.
